The UK is considering a law banning the boiling of live lobsters, after a report showed that shellfish may have feelings. The study was conducted by the London School of Economics (LSE) and is part of a sentience bill. According to the study, all vertebrates and/or animals with spines have senses and are therefore recognised as sentient beings. The UK is not the first country to consider this law - Norway, New Zealand, Austria, and parts of Italy and Germany have thought up similar plans in regards to animal welfare legislation. Would you be for or against this new law?

  But... lobsters don't have spines. They are invertebrates. They have an exoskeleton. So the law wouldn't apply, surely. Unless we say ALL creatures, and current science indicates plants also have feelings that can be measured, especially pain. So... do we stop eating?
