Chile wants to protect the brains of its citizens against technology and has decided to include "neuro-rights" in its Constitution, a world-first of its kind.
The aim is to prevent new technologies from being used to disrupt the integrity of individuals, and to preserve the “physical and psychological integrity” of each citizen, so that “no authority or individual” can, through means of such new technologies on the human brain, “increase, decrease or disrupt this individual integrity without the appropriate consent."
The bill has already been passed unanimously in the Senate and must now be approved by the Chamber of Deputies.
