Potato Fritter - why?

Last night we had a takeaway I’d ordered and paid for online. Neil just went and collected it.
When we opened it up there was an extra package which turned out to be two potato fritters.
We didn’t want them last night so I put them in the fridge to have tonight.
I heated them in the air fryer, so nice and crispy..
But we didn’t like them.
I’ve never tried them before and won’t be having them again.
Battered slices of potato really don’t seem to have any nutritional value, unless of course you really need to gain weight!
It made me wonder who had actually ordered them before they accidentally got put in our order…..and why?!

my mum used to make these for us as children .but she used to soak the sliced potato in gravy ,then let it dry before frying as you say not much nutrition but they used to fill us up Reply

yuck sound revolting.. fish and chips from the chippy is a rare treat here, I usually make my own dry wedges.. just potatoes cut in wedges and put in the oven, no fat. Reply

They are not for me Brucie or chips either , I make my own now , as the grease from a chippy s grub just puts me off now , like you a air frier is the greatest thing invented for tasty grub with less fat ! Reply

I agree, it's carbohydrate overload. I also don't understand why people insist on having chips with everything - pizza and chips, lasagne and chips, burger (in a bun) and chips. Why? Reply
