I agree with Gilbert who posed the question "Should we be paid to vote?" and the way I see it, the pollies are being paid by people who want lucrative Government contracts that tax payers have to pay for, look at Liberal lobbyists like Michael Woolridge who was health minister and got on the Aspen company board after politics, it was then awarded a billion dollar contract that earned the company 25%. so yeah, if pollies get bribed by business then we should get paid say $10,000 each for our vote, then set up a trust fund for our kids and grand kids who will be paying for the governments 5 billion Dollars for cancelling the subs contract.
