Gift Cards and Money as Gifts

Doing research for a paper, I discovered that almost 70% of people received gift cards or money as a gift last Christmas, while 60% gave them. Do you think this is just caused by COVID lockdowns, or do you think people are more inclined to give these so the recipient will not be disappointed with their gift? What do you think of this as a gift? Does it take away the personalisation of gift-giving?

It depends, I think gifts are lovely but gift cards are good for some people that are hard to buy for or who prefer them. Reply

I suppose it does make it a bit impersonal but when you just don't know what to give someone I think these are a good idea. Reply

I'd the gift than the E-card. (more personal) Reply
