Looks like my rent will actually remain at $109 per week to the year 2023, that is when Mission Australia will be doing the next rental review. From the 1st of November Housing Tasmania ceases giving thousands of more homes assistance, and we are being transferred over to Mission Australia. It is starting to really piss me right off when I hear from people saying another increase and rent goes up, I say count yourselves lucky that you are not on unemployment and or a pension trying to rent private. You cannot even get a one bedroom unit in Hobart under $250 no longer, and the average 1 bedroom is now from $350 to $450 a week.
Private rent goes up a lot more than $4 to $6 a week every year, and we need to stop thinking about ourselves and think about others who are in dire straights, who cannot access Community Housing and Public Housing because of longer waiting lists.

Sounds like my place. My husbands pension goes up by around $2.00 per fortnight for cpi so my pension goes down by about $5.00 a fortnight! Some raise... Reply

I don't understand why people keep complaining about the pension ! We need to put things into perspective , you are in fact 57c better off a week , which means you don't have to spend as much time looking for bottles and cans for the 10c . It's all about time management , the time you save doing this chore , will give you more time to find golf balls in the water hazards to sell back to the pro club . You can take more time searching the skip bins at the back of restaurants for a nosh . I think what the government is trying to get across is sustainability , by controlling our decadent spending , we can now recycle all the the wastage that is a part of our society , so we can leave a better environment and lifestyle for our children . With that $1.14 I got in my pension rise, I don't have enough for a Postage Stamp to put on the Letter to PM Sco-Mo and tell him he is a 'Cheap BASTOOL'
You can adjust the Barstool to what you like.
Liar Liar, hope your Pant catch on Fire.
