#ValuingWater - Clean water for all by 2030!
Closed

The 22nd of March was World Water Day - but do you know exactly why this day is celebrated annually? Recognized officially for the first time in 1993, the United Nations' aim is to raise awareness of the 2.2 billion people still without access to clean and safe water facilities.

Furthermore, it serves as a reminder of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. But to move closer to this goal and understand its importance, we mustn't forget how intertwined water is in our daily lives when many of us can take it for granted - after all, it's used and beneficial for our homes, cooking, health and sanitation, education, economics and also for the integrity and protection of our natural environment.

This year, the focus was placed on "Valuing Water" and reflecting collectively on our 'stories, thoughts and feelings about water.' Why? To ensure no one is left behind in this development and to avoid "mismanaging this finite, irreplaceable resource," the UN-Water wrote on its website.

Now, it's your turn. Create a topic with the title #ValuingWater and let us know your thoughts and feelings about water or what it may be like to live without steady access. The choice and angle of your debate or opinion are completely up to you as long as it remains in line with the theme.

Don't forget to include a relevant photo or video with your topic! The best entries could earn up to 1000 points! Let's express our thoughts on this hugely important matter and move closer to the goal of clean water and sanitation for all by 2030!

All entries, including up until the 5th of April will be credited accordingly.

Influence your world,
Toluna Team

I india even today there are many places where people get water only once in 8 to 10 days. And there are places where they have to walk down to bring pots of water. Value water and be thankful that u have plenty of water. And try to save water for others.

Water is a basic resource. There should be no arguments if #ValuingWater is important or not. It is a basic right of every human.
