Anyone else prefer movie soundtracks over songs?
Closed

As far as music goes, I much prefer soundtracks from movies over songs. I like writing stories, anything from fantasy to science-fiction to everyday life. Not that I've ever published a book or finished one, but have patience, I'm only 19 :D And as a college student, talking to people on campus about studying shows that the majority of people, when studying along with music, get caught up with the songs they listen to and spend half their study time singing and dancing along. As for me, I can never really catch the lyrics of most songs anyway, think it might be like a slight attention disorder or something, but I found that listening to (certain) movie soundtracks really really gets my mind stuck on the Study Mode :) So, other people have playlists of songs that they listen to depending on what mood they're in. I have playlists of movie soundtracks that I listen to depending on what I'm writing/doing. And my favourite artists are the master (Hans Zimmer), Murray Gold (Dr. Who soundtracks), Harry Gregson-Williams (Narnias), and John Williams (Star Wars). And of course Howard Shaw (Hobbit-LotR).

(sorry this is a bit long!) Anyone else think the same way?

I like both too, particular fan of John Williams. I remember liking the soundtrack to The Hunger Games movies.
