My " I told you so' moment

Ever since "Tap and Go"payments were introduced, my sons have urged me to use the card rather than cash, and I refused. Well it has just been proven that plastic cards carry more germs than cash, both notes and coins. Have you ever had an I told you so experience?

How did you son's reply to your 'I told you so'. I really cannot do this to my daughter who at the time of her very hastily arranged marriage because she was going overseas with the defence force, I had said 'Are you sure?' She is now in the process of a divorce after many years of hell and I remarked to her that the old adage seems to still be true - 'Marry in haste, repent at leisure'. She said she hadn't heard this one, but agreed it was certainly true in her case.

I still use Cash. If a business when i get to the register wont accept cash. Then i just leave my stuff on the counter and walk out. Cash is still a legal tender. If they don't accept it i then go somewhere else who will still accept my cash.

I still use tap and go BP. I do not carry much cash and in lockdown stores would not take it. Cannot remember the last time someone said "I told you so" but I am sure that this has happened.

Not so much germs but what you give away to interested parties when you use Plastic.
You pay by cash there is no record of the transaction. You pay by plastic the bank gets a complete record of what you have bought, where you bought it and from whom so they add that to their Data Vases and in increases the value of their data to advertisers which rush over each other to pay the banks for their data.

I use both cash and tap-and-go... whichever is convenient for me. Germs are everywhere, but what can you do!

I am still a cash user too. I felt that if a shop wanted me to buy something they should accept cash, it's still legal tender. And I understood that the likely hood of germs on the cash was very slim.

Everyday... more "I told you" not so much the "so" but he too doesn't listen! I would have thought that a card is more likely to have your own germs and little chance of contaminants because you hold on to it whereas cash goes around the community. Obviously wrong by your post.
